Product introduction
AMP-95 is a multifunctional additive widely used in latex paints. In the formulation, AMP-95 can be used as a dispersant to prevent secondary flocculation of pigments; at the same time, AMP-95 can also greatly improve the overall performance of coatings. The use of AMP-95 at various stages of coating manufacture provides the following performance improvements.
Purpose
Benefits of using AMP-95 in the grinding stage:
(1) When used in conjunction with traditional dispersants, the amount of dispersants can be reduced;
(2) Make the pigment achieve the optimal dispersion effect;
(3) The foam is reduced due to the reduction in the amount of dispersant;
(4) Effectively control pH value;
(5) Reduce formula cost.
Benefits of using AMP-95 in the paint formulation stage:
(1) Improve the performance of the thickener;
(2) Avoid using ammonia water to reduce the smell of paint;
(3) Improve the color rendering of the toner paste.
AMP-95 improves film properties:
(1) Improve scrub resistance and water resistance;
(2) Reduce corrosion and flash rust in tanks;
(3) Effectively reduce the odor of the system;
(4) Does not cause the increase of volatile organic compounds (VOC) in the system.
When designing a latex paint formulation, the effect of dispersants and surfactants on the paint and its final properties is an important consideration. The data in this technical specification shows that the use of AMP-95 can reduce the amount of additives used in many coatings, thereby reducing the cost of raw materials and improving the performance of coatings. Typical characteristics of V: Neutralization Equivalent: 93~97 Flash Point: Open Cup: 78℃; Closed Cup: 83℃ 561 centipoise; solidification surface tension at -2°C: stock solution: 37 dynes/cm; 10% aqueous solution: 58 dynes/cm The method of use is to replace 30% of the dispersed solids of the existing system.
Generally, the dosage of AMP-95 is 0.05% to 0.1% of the total formula. In the paint formulation stage: In a typical formulation, AMP-95 needs to be used in an amount of 0.1% to 0.3% of the total formulation in order to obtain the best pH stability, the degree of neutralization of the thickener when it arrives, and to eliminate corrosion in the tank In order to control flash corrosion, an additional 0.1% to 0.2% (according to the total amount of the formula) of AMP-95 is needed. AMP-95 can give the latex paint excellent pH stability. Ammonia is a weaker amine and More volatile than AMP-95, so ammoniated coatings have poor pH stability and a strong odor. pH control is very important for the formulation of latex paints because most paint formulations have a stable alkaline pH to control the following properties: pigment dispersion, system stability, barrel corrosion, viscosity stability . In addition, other commonly used amines and alkanolamines are easy to cause yellowing of the paint film, while AMP-95 will not cause yellowing, which is particularly important for most high-end coatings.
