Solubility / dilution
Generally speaking, the product is compatible with esters and ether esters. However, each solvent should be tested for solubility and compatibility. Use only polyurethane grade solvents. The water content must not exceed 0.05%.
Features/Applications
Bayhydur XP 2655 is a crosslinker suitable for use in waterborne systems; such waterborne systems require good binding stability and chemical resistance. Although this curing agent is relatively weakly hydrophilic, it is easy to emulsify in the aqueous phase, even at the low shear forces commonly found in commercial use. Coatings prepared with this product form high gloss, low haze films.
Generally, when mixed with hydrophilic curing agent, especially ionic hydrophilic polyol dispersion, it can be diluted with water in advance or add a small amount of organic co-solvent to control the viscosity increase. Due to its moderate balance of hydrophilicity and high functionality, waterborne two-pack polyurethane coatings prepared with Bayhydur XP 2655 are characterized by fast drying, fast hardening, and films with high final hardness and excellent chemical resistance characteristics. Bayhydur XP 2655 can also be used as a crosslinking aid for waterborne polyols (Bayhydrol®) and for most neutral waterborne polymer dispersions such as polyurethane, polyvinyl acetate, polyacrylate and synthetic rubber dispersions. joint agent.
After the addition of Bayhydur XP 2655, the ready-to-use two-component paint must be used within the pot life. Pot life is affected by polymer content and other components such as resins, thickeners, plasticizers, etc. In many dispersions, the end of the pot life (usually a few hours) does not show gelling.
store
- stored in Covestro airtight containers;
- Recommended storage temperature: 0-30°C;
- Protection from moisture, heat and foreign substances.
General Information :Hydrophilic isocyanates are very sensitive to moisture and react with water to form carbon dioxide and water-insoluble ureas. Therefore, it must be stored in an airtight container. All forms of water (moist air, solvents, wet containers) must be stopped, as the buildup of pressure caused by the production of carbon dioxide can be dangerous. High temperature storage will cause a slight increase in viscosity and color.
storage time
Provided that the product has been stored in full compliance with the requirements in the "Storage" clause above and handled properly, the product meets the specifications stated in the "Specifications or Characteristic Values" clause above for a period of 6 months from the date of shipment stated on the shipping document or characteristic value (as applicable). The fact that a product exceeds the 6-month period above does not mean that it no longer meets the specifications or the values set in the characteristic values. However, it is recommended that products older than 6 months from the date of shipment be tested prior to use to confirm that they still meet the values set in the specifications or characteristic values. The manufacturer makes no commitments for products older than 6 months from the date of shipment, and does not assume any responsibility or liability for non-conformance to specifications or set values in characteristic values.
