Product introduction
PolyFox PF-136A, PF-156A, and PF-151N fluorosurfactants are environmentally friendly, series of water-dispersible fluorosurfactants based on Omnifax solutions. PolyFox is used in waterborne coatings to improve leveling and surface appearance. These PolyFox fluorosurfactants are effective in reducing air entrainment and introduction to improve the appearance of waterborne coatings. If properly formulated, PolyFox fluorosurfactants can be used to replace telomer-based and other conventional fluorosurfactants. Compared to traditional fluorosurfactant technologies, PolyFox fluorosurfactants greatly reduce foaming, air entrapment and entrainment.
Main features and efficacy
· Environmentally friendly – Test data has shown that PolyFox does not cause fluorochemical bioaccumulation, so PolyFox has a very low environmental impact compared to some telomer-based and conventional fluorochemicals.
· Low Foaming Color – Using PolyFox significantly reduces foaming compared to other fluorosurfactant technologies. The very small amount of bubbles created also burst immediately.
· Improved Appearance – The use of PolyFox can reduce defects on the surface of the paint and improve appearance. PolyFox helps reduce pitting and cratering in spray coating and surface waviness in roller coating.
Excellent Air Release and Degassing – The use of PolyFox significantly reduces air entrainment, thereby reducing surface defects such as pinholes, air entrapment and shrinkage craters. Eliminating surface defects can also increase the durability of the coating.
· Water-like color – Compared to traditional telomer-based and conventional fluorine technology, PolyFox is clear and uniform in color. The use of PolyFox does not affect the color of formulations, especially colorless paints.
Excellent water dispersibility – PolyFox PF-136A, PF-156A, and PF-151N fluorosurfactants are dispersible in water. They can also be premixed with formulated solvents to speed dispersion time.
Versatile versatility – PolyFox is an environmentally preferred fluorochemical that replaces telomer-based and other traditional fluorochemicals without the common air introduction and associated technical issues, resulting in improved final product surface appearance. PolyFox's unique fluorosurfactant ultimately acts as a degasser and leveling agent. PolyFox can also help reduce the amount of other additives in the proper coating formulation.

Traditional fluorosurfactant technologies used in water-based coatings can promote or cause foaming, air entrapment, and pinholes, which can cause surface defects and degrade coating performance. However, technology using OMNOVA's environmentally friendly fluorosurfactant Polyfox significantly reduces foaming and air entrainment, resulting in improved surface appearance.
PolyFox is environmentally friendly, which is different from conventional fluorosurfactants on the market. Additional benefits of PolyFox are good water dispersibility, clarity without affecting the color of the system, and significantly improved degassing. These features result in improved coating appearance and performance.
