Product introduction
VESTANT TMDI is an aliphatic isocyanate with methyl branches. It is a mixture of 2,2,4-trimethylhexamethylene diisocyanate and 2,4,4-trimethylhexamethylene diisocyanate. (about 1:1). As an aliphatic isocyanate, VESTANT TMDI is a low viscosity, colorless, faintly odorous liquid.

Properties and Applications
Based on its aliphatic properties, VESTANT TMDI can be used to manufacture light and weather resistant polyurethanes. Compared to cyclic ester isocyanates, VESTANT TMDI imparts very flexible segments to the resulting polyurethanes. Polyurethanes made with VESTANT TMDI exhibit excellent compatibility. Naturally, many properties of polyurethane resins also depend on the substances that react with TMDI, such as POLYOLS.
VESTANT TMDI can be used to prepare amino-modified resins for coatings. Polyurethanes made from VESTANT TMDI are characterized by excellent flexibility, compatibility and very low viscosity. There are several applications under heating conditions, polyurethane dispersions and radiation-cured polyurethane-modified acrylics. The addition of VESTANT TMDI to the isocyanate system in half of the total isocyanates will cause changes related to the properties mentioned above.
Reactivity and Catalysts
As an aliphatic isocyanate, the reactivity of VESTANT TMDI is not as good as that of aromatic isocyanates, but its reactivity is significantly higher than that of cyclic aliphatic isocyanates. If you need to speed up the reaction, just add 0.001 to 0.01% of dibutyltin dilaurate (DBTDL).
storage and packaging
VESTANT TMDI can be stored in airtight tanks for at least one year without loss of quality.
VESTANT TMDI is packaged in 25KG and 200KG cans.
