Features/Applications

Bayhytherm® 3246 is used to formulate waterborne one-component stoving paint systems such as waterborne putty or general industrial paints. Films based on Bayhytherm® 3246 have exceptional impact strength, adhesion and recoatability. Bayhytherm® 3246 can also be used as an additive in traditional waterborne stoving systems to improve flexibility, impact strength and adhesion. The product has high reactivity, good pigment wetting and thermal stability. Because it thins easily, at spray viscosity, it offers advantages in solids and paint fill-in capabilities. Typical curing parameters are 30 minutes at 130°C. The product exhibits overbake stability up to 120 minutes at 190°C. Slight thermal yellowing may occur based on baking temperature and time.

  compatibility

Bayhytherm® 3246 is compatible with eg Bayhydrol® U XP 2698 or UA 2856; with blocked polyurethane dispersions such as Bayhydur® BL XP 2706 or Bayhydur® BL 2867; and with amino resins such as Luwipal® 066LF, 072 or 0731) and Maprenal® MF 904 or MF 9152). However, compatibility should be tested beforehand.
