Features/Applications
Considering the product's excellent mechanical and chemical resistance, this product is especially suitable for the preparation of high-strength, high-gloss seals on mineral substrates and reactive resins (epoxy, polyurethane). In addition, the product is good at accentuating the texture of substrates such as pigmented paints. This adhesive can also be used to prepare high-grade, low-VOC coatings for wood, metal, plastic and other substrates. This product can also be combined with other water-based dilutable adhesives. Because there are a variety of reactants to choose from, they should be tested for compatibility. High activity reduces drying time and increases productivity. The viscosity of this product is largely determined by its pH. Its pH will drop during storage, and so will its viscosity. The viscosity can be restored to the original value by adding a small amount of triethylamine. Dowanol® PnB and triethylamine are reacted with isocyanates as hydroxyl co-solvents/amines. According to the Decorative Paints Directive 2004-42-EC, they are reactive diluents, not the corresponding VOCs.

General Information: This product is frost sensitive and prolonged exposure to freezing conditions can severely damage the product. Long-term storage at higher temperatures can result in a decrease in viscosity and/or an increase in average particle size, possibly resulting in precipitation or coagulation. The viscosity of this product can be adjusted by pH. As the pH value may drop during storage, the viscosity of the product may also decrease. The original viscosity value can be restored by adding a small amount of 10% triethanolamine solvent. Contamination with certain bacteria, molds or algae can render the product unusable.
storage time
Provided that the product has been stored in full compliance with the requirements in the "Storage" clause above and handled properly, the product will meet the specifications stated in the "Specifications or Characteristic Values" clause above for a period of 6 months from the date of shipment stated on the shipping document or characteristic value (as applicable). Exceeding the above 6-month period does not mean that a product no longer meets the specifications or the values set in the characteristic values. However, it is recommended that products older than 6 months from the date of shipment be tested prior to use to confirm that they still meet the specifications or values set in the characteristic values. The manufacturer makes no promises for products older than 6 months from the date of shipment, and accepts no responsibility or liability for non-conformance to specifications or set values in characteristic values.
