  store
Desmodur W is sensitive to moisture and should therefore be stored in its original, fully sealed container in a cool, dry place. Desmodur W remains storage stable for at least 6 months if stored under suitable conditions.
Storing at ≤25℃ will easily lead to crystallization and sink to the bottom. This product can be used only when it needs to be heated to 40-50°C and has a uniform single phase. This process also allows the use of already crystallized products.

  Dangerous .
This product is toxic by inhalation. It can strongly corrode the skin and cause redness, swelling, pain, infection and rash. Vapors from this product can irritate the mucous membranes of the eyes and respiratory tract, and cause lacrimation and coughing. May cause permanent eye disease. May cause sensitization by contact with skin or possible inhalation of its vapors.

  Safety
Because this product is an isocyanate monomer, special care should be taken when handling it.
This product safety information needs to be read carefully, it contains labeling, transportation, storage and product disposal, product safety and ecological impact information. At the same time, please also pay attention to the supplementary data of the technical data. In addition, the current national regulations governing the handling of polyisocyanates must be observed and followed.
In Germany, the maximum allowable concentration of Desmodur W for occupational exposure (summary of vapour and smoke) is 0.054 mg/m3 (in 8-hour TWA). Exceeding this limit value is prohibited, even with short contact time. Remarks: H (=absorbable through the skin) (TRGS00, October 2000).
In the UK, incidental exposure (on an 8-hour TWA basis) for all isocyanates is specified at a maximum allowable concentration of 0.02 mg/m3. The maximum allowable concentration for short-term exposure (calculated by 10 minutes STEL) is 0.07 mg/m3, and this data is based on isocyanate content. In other countries, the maximum allowable concentration related to methylenebis-(4-cyclohexyl isocyanate) should be referred to Check with local authorities.
Avoid skin and eye contact with this product or inhalation of its vapors. Also avoid the formation of fumes, such as when cleaning mixing equipment with air flow, or opening the safety valve of a pressurized container.

When handling Desmodur W products, protective gloves of different materials must comply with the following requirements:

thickness

Penetration time

Butyl Rubber - IIR

≥0.5

≥480 min

Fluorinated rubber - FKM

≥0.4

≥480 min

Nitrile rubber - NBR

≥0.35

≥480 min

Safety goggles, protective gloves and overall protective clothing must be worn. Contaminated clothing must be removed and disposed of immediately. When working with poor ventilation, especially when handling a large number of open products, a gas mask must be worn (for a short time, a mask that can filter harmful gases; for a long time, in the case of poor protection conditions work, must be equipped with an assisted breathing system that can work independently).
If the smell of Desmodur W is smelled, it means that the maximum allowable air concentration has been exceeded, and people in the exposed area should be evacuated immediately.
