560 In the presence of water, the methoxy group will be hydrolyzed to form a reactive silanol group, which can form bonds with the surface of various inorganic substrates.
The hydrolysis of 560 can be catalyzed by organic acids such as acetic acid.
Suitable inorganic materials like: glass, fiberglass, quartz, cristobalite and metals.
Resins that can be used for -560 include, epoxy, phenolic, polyurethane, PAVC, acrylic and polysulfide rubber.
