Properties and Description
Cycloaliphatic diisocyanate VESTANAT H12MDI, used as a material for polyurethane manufacturing, has excellent light stability, weather resistance and mechanical properties. It is also particularly suitable for the manufacture of elastomers, aqueous PU dispersions and light-cured polyurethane resins. In addition to its superior mechanical properties, VESTANAT H12MDI also exhibits excellent hydrolysis and chemical resistance.
Activity and Catalysis
Aliphatic and cycloaliphatic diisocyanates are less reactive than aromatic diisocyanates. VESTANAT H12MDI usually requires an appropriate catalyst to accelerate the urethanization reaction, and an organotin catalyst is recommended. (eg DBTDL or DBTDAc)
If the reaction is carried out at a relatively high temperature, it is not necessary to add a catalyst.
storage and transportation
VESTANAT H12MDI is sensitive to moisture. If the influence of moisture can be excluded, it can be stored for at least 6 months without affecting the above standard quality.
VESTANAT H12MDI will partially crystallize and deposit on the bottom at a temperature lower than 25℃. If this happens, it needs to be heated to 40-50℃ and homogenized before use.
VESTANAT H12MDI is supplied in non-recyclable 200KG drums.
