Features/Applications
Desmodo CD is suitable for one- and two-component polyurethane coatings or adhesive formulations with Desmodo, Baikor and Acclaim. It is especially suitable for the formulation of reactive polyurethane and hot melt adhesives. Since the vapor pressure of MDI increases sharply when the temperature rises, the application of adhesives containing free isocyanates should be operated in an environment with draft conditions.
store
This product is moisture sensitive and should be stored in an airtight container. Under suitable storage conditions (20-25°C, in an airtight container), the product is stable for six months after shipment.
When stored for a long time in an environment above 25°C, the quality of this product will decrease, and it will gradually become cloudy due to the production of insoluble precipitates (dimers). For example, the shelf life is up to 4 months when stored at 40°C. When stored at too low temperature, crystallization will occur around 15°C.
Crystallization must be avoided during storage as it will lead to the formation of infusible dimers. After crystallization has occurred, the product will not fully melt after approximately three weeks.
In order to prevent the formation of crystallization, it should be ensured that this product is stored at a temperature not lower than 20 °C. On receipt, samples should be taken to determine crystallinity. When crystallization occurs during transportation and storage, it must be heated immediately for melting.
During melting and crystallization, the temperature must not exceed 70 °C, and the time should not be too long, because this will increase the formation of infusible dimers. It should be ensured that all this product in the container is evenly heated and melted. After melting, it should be cooled immediately and the container should be sealed and stored at 20~25℃.
The short-term crystallization of Desmodo CD will not cause great adverse effects on its quality, but only affect its shelf life. Therefore, the remelted product should be used as soon as possible.
use
The container for storing this product must be tightly sealed, even if the container is empty, it should be kept tightly closed. First of all, it is necessary to prevent the entry of moisture to generate urea and carbon dioxide. During storage, disposal, transportation and trial, all forms of moisture (moisture containers, aqueous solutions, moisture in the air) should be strictly prohibited from entering, because the generated carbon dioxide may cause storage tanks and The pressure in the container has risen abnormally to a dangerous level. ; In addition, the formation of urea can also lead to turbidity and precipitation of solids, which can block filters, pumps and transfer lines.
Safety
Dangerous Goods Signed, this product is harmful if inhaled and irritating to skin, eyes and respiratory system. Inhalation and skin contact may cause allergic reactions.
Please refer to the relevant data in the Safety Data Sheet (079913) of this product. This includes information on the labelling, transportation, storage, handling, product safety and environmental suitability of this product.
