Product Description
Trixene BI 7774 is a highly flexible polyurethane resin that can be used to increase the flexibility of epoxy resins. Epoxy resins toughened with Trixene BI 7774 retain many of the properties of epoxy systems, however the inherent embrittlement properties of epoxy resins are improved by reaction with polyurethane and amine curing agents at room temperature.
Trixene BI 7774 is a solvent-free aromatic curing agent with a blocked isocyanate component, which eliminates humidity sensitivity and improves storage stability at ambient temperatures.

Technical Information
Trixene BI 7774 is a low viscosity, high flexibility polyurethane designed to toughen epoxy resins, thereby reducing the inherent brittleness of traditional epoxy resins. The material is phenol-free, which reduces some concerns in use with other suitable materials.
Solubility and Compatibility
Trixene BI 7774 is soluble in most solvents such as acetates, ketones, esters and aromatic solvents, but shows limited solubility in aliphatic hydrocarbons. For room temperature curing applications, Trixene BI 7774 can be diluted with ethanol or water. Viscosity can be adjusted with most plasticizers, such as phthalic acid, adipate, trioctyl phosphate.
Hardener
The final performance of the system will be determined by the type of curing agent. Under normal temperature curing conditions, the best test results are to use aliphatic or cycloaliphatic amine curing agents.
The following test results are based on mixing Trixene BI 7774 with Araldite GY250 (epoxy), Laromin C260 (amine)

storage and transportation
Trixene BI 7774 is not affected by moisture and is free of free radical isocyanate monomers at room temperature. However, it is still recommended to keep the product in an airtight container at 10-30°C to ensure the performance of the product, and the sample can be stored for 6 months in such an environment. Avoid contact with eyes and skin, detailed handling methods can be based on MSDS. During storage, samples should not be exposed to temperatures above 40°C, otherwise pressure will build up in the container. At extreme temperatures, toxic gases are released, which can be harmful to health.
Safety
