 Product introduction
     PTMG 1400 (polytetramethylene ether glycol) is a nominal 1400 molecular weight diol based on THF (tetrahydrofuran) polymerization. The enhanced reactivity makes it ideal for use with polyurethane.

  Purpose  
     PTMG is widely used in the production of conventional polyurethane elastomers, such as spandex fibers, artificial leather coatings, thermoplastic polyurethane (TPU), thermoplastic polyester elastomers and others (adhesives, foams, etc.).

      PTMG is hygroscopic, and the absorption of moisture affects the reactivity of the polyurethane and the physical properties of the resulting polymer. Materials should be kept in airtight containers and in dry conditions away from direct light sources. The recommended storage temperature is 40~45°C. Open drums must be tightly closed immediately after removing the material

 Precautions for use
      PTMG has a very low acute toxic odor and has no obvious health hazard to users. However, normal industrial hygiene standards should be observed when handling this chemical. Appropriate protective clothing and safety glasses must be worn to avoid unnecessary contact and accidental ingestion. In case of skin or eye contact, rinse immediately with plenty of water. In case of eye contact, seek medical attention.

  Safety
    PTMG polyether glycol will burn under certain conditions and may explode if heated to decomposition temperature in an enclosed area. Polyol fires can be extinguished with water mist, carbon dioxide or dry chemical.
